When you are in a group at work and a co worker starts to say something with which you do not agree it is very important not to interrupt him, let him say what he has to say. The main reason why people get into on argument when it comes to politics is because someone interrupts the person who is speaking. When this thing happens the person talking starts speaking louder in order to be heard thus creating the tension leading to arguments.

Make sure that you are at all times informed on what is happening in politics in case you participate at a political conversation at work. Try to understand why that person has such a strong belief in something. By doing this the discussion will run smoothly and with no arguments.

At this kind of conversation feel free to communicate because you have nothing to be afraid of. Just make sure that you express your ideas on the matter and avoid raising you voice or become irritated if someone does not agree with you view or idea. If the conversation starts to get out of control simply remove yourself from the group by excusing yourself.

It is OK to want to talk politics at work but you have to avoid certain subject, you should find out what they are and stay away from them. The topics can be related to wars or gay marriage. Once you’ve solved this problem you are ready to start you conversations on politics and enjoy them. However, if, with all your efforts, other coworkers who participate in a conversation don’t seem able to let others speak and listen to their opinions, perhaps it is best to avoid the conversations to begin with and limit yourself to small talk and subjects like commercial coffee makers or the latest blockbuster movies. The truth is not everyone is a great conversationalist, and while in the middle of an argument, even fewer are able to contain themselves, to come up with valid arguments, or even reach a good conclusion. So as stupid as commercial coffee makers or discussions about the weather may be, it will be better for everyone involved to set some subject limits if not everyone can contain their anger or frustration.
